Myhermes are rubbish. Well every time I have used them anyway. I use 25mm thick boxes. Fit through the post office slot and give plenty protection, only good for 50 rg and under

something like these are good for up to a fiver

I always use an old VHS case. Never heard of any stick being damaged & they can then use it to send your cigars to you

I went through 2 outers of those doing splits. They do get re-cycled a bit too, I've even seen them used inside out after the front has been used a dozen times or so.

Best boxes ever though are Suomi Posti flat boxes .... 165 x 220 x 50mm .... wish RM did them. US Priority do a similar box but it's just a bit to deep for UK letterboxes.

My latest thoughts on this is that you could in theory buy a 3m length of plastic pipe for around ?9 a length, cut to size and cap the ends with cardboard before wrapping in brown parcel paper and posting, much like a slimmer version of a poster tube.

A Robusto is a little under 2cm in diameter so it shouldn't be too difficult to buy suitable pipe (I've yet to take a trip to B&Q to test this theory) and would be considerably cheaper to post than other methods.

PVC pipe readily available in 1/2, 3/4 and 1" sizes.

Very good idea. That might be something to try. Could put two in a longer tube. I considered taping three tubes together too but it could look a bit more bombish that wanted!!!

I have used plastic pipe before for Monte A's, worked fine but I wouldn't want to go too small in Dia incase it was more easily lost & has to be large enough to take the labels.
