In the absence of PMs and because of your remote location I would say Ebay, search 'collectables', 'tobaciana', 'cigars/cutters' and you'll find loads. If you know anyone going near a good shop like JJ Fox they often sell them for a couple of quid.

I would rather get spanish cedar from a wood store instead of buying multiple cigar boxes.

I still remember Deano binning his cigar boxes before realising he could've ebayed them for a return!

There have been a few discussions about cedar as you can imagine. Hit the search tab and look for Spanish cedar pal.

Back to Ebay buddy, there's an American seller who ships Spanish Cedar veneer, build the cabinet out of something else. VTG the carpenter will be along soon to advise you!

              empty boxes

Most boxes only have a thin veneer of cedar, the boxes themselves are often made of cheaper woods and even ply.

Ha ha 'yet'! You may have noticed that Sligub gave me the good advice that it needs to be about 2/3 full to maintain stability. This has the added benefit of confusing your other half as to how many cigars you actually have. If you're able to wait until you get PMs I'm sure plenty of guys will send you empty boxes for free.

Why don't you simply go to a plastics supplier. Have some 1/4 inch thick clear perspex cut to size and holes drilled for circulation .... it seems to work for Davidoff. Your cigar boxes will be cedar-ply lined, so no worries all round.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!
