My sentiment too. We got a fire pit, tonnes of wood, but I reckon by the time I get it lit and actually chucking out heat, I'd be frozen and fed-up, or finished and heading back in doors anyway.

Yup it's a shame really. I'd love a garden workshop/office/cave with a wood burner in it. I'd be happy to stay out there long enough to make it worth it! Oh but I wouldn't be allowed to spend time out there anyway! That's why I want to buy some woodland to have my premises on, that way I can say I'm off to work and enjoy a day of working with a cigar in hand.

          Do you use a heater?
          What can you recommend?
I partake in the garden, would never use an outdoor heater though. They're pretty abysmal from an environmental viewpoint, I don't bother with the one at the local pub when I'm there either. I use a down jacket instead, it'll keep you warm in anything.

AS far as bad weather goes generally, I look on it as natures way of helping your stock to age!

            Interesting point....
But just doesn't seem as relaxing done up like the Mr StayPuft... And I'd need gloves for my hands to keep working!
As I have a down jacket and no heater, I'll give it a bash and see how I go. May have to get some fingerless gloves though...

If you extended the pipe on a chimnea you could go through the canopy roof.

I but a chiminea on Ebay once without reading the small print and when it arrived it was only a foot high!

If you've just got a shelter then keeping extremities warm is always an issue mate, even with a heater! I tend to stick to shorter sticks, minuto's mostly - Party Shorts, Trini Reyes, San Cristobal Principe etc. Good quality
smokes that won't have frostbite setting in!

For gloves, thin windproof ones might be a better bet than fingerless. Mike Ashley should see you right with something like this

I've been gunning to get a wood burner in the garage/shed for years and now it really matters, I'm wishing I'd got off my backside to sort it out. But we're in the same boat. I'd probably never be allowed to spend enough time out there to feel any benefit.

I don't feel the cold so much, so I'm just going to grin and bear it.

I recommend a convertible car with a good heater.

                            Something like this.

Hired this in Boston last month and the heater was great.
