  • Smoking with the temperature change...

With the weather taking a turn for the worse, as Autumn and Winter slowly kick in,
my smoking days are going to become very very limited.

    Therefore, stock will last longer...

Smoking will have to take place in the garage until after the new year now.
Is this the case for others?

To a degree, I don't mind smoking in the garage

The whole 'bad weather stops play' thing is a bit of an unwelcome development. Hadn't really thought about it until now. It will be the shed for me this year but ever hopeful of something more suitable next winter.

We've just had a deck built. I suggested we might want another tier and, 'hmm, a summer house would be a good idea, no?' My wife quickly asked if I was looking for somewhere to smoke cigars in bad weather. Tried to look innocent and surprised, and replied 'gosh, what a great idea. Never thought of that.' Don't think she was convinced, but the project hasn't been canned [emoji4]

So, 'site acquired for development' ....

.... and hoping for enough work so I can save up to build South Wales's newest herf shack, sorry, family summer house, in Spring next year. Design ideas and suggestions very welcome ....

You could use the shed at the bottom of the stairs [emoji12].

And agree with the bad weather coming opportunities will become few and far between for myself [emoji53]

Ha ha! I'll have a word with my daughter. It's got a fold down table and a picture of a roaring fire. It did have a phone too ... What more could I want!?

I guess we'll just enjoy the opportunities we do get all the more and, as Simon G said, stock will last longer. It'll be a good time to build some up too.

Unfortunately the pubs near me are pretty rough so not even like I can find one with a sheltered smoking area worth going to. And I can't stand the smell of cigarettes so unless I've got the place to myself (or fellow cigar smokers), I wouldn't enjoy it anyway.

You'll have to travel a bit further south when you're in town and enjoy one in my newly refurbished smoking den

Have considered smoking in the house? I take it is your house? With the fire lit that draws all the smoke up the chimney at mine. Had a friends girlfriend complain about smoking while she was here not long ago so we made her stand outside whenever we smoked. Don't think she will be coming back..... mu ha ha ha

I wouldn't smoke in my house even if my wife let me but I applaud the way madam was dealt with

I don't allow cigarettes as I think the smell of them lingers on for ages. When I did smoke digs I would leave the windows open all weekend when away at gf and it would still stink come Monday. Leave the smoking room window open over night after cigars and can't tell in the morning.

Actually does anyone know why that is? The same plant and all that so why such difference?

That's very kind [emoji4] In town now, but I've been holding off advertising where I'm going to be cos I don't have PMs to arrange anything. It would be bad mannered to say 'meet here ...' and then I can't make it.

As soon as I'm up and running with PMs, I'm really keen to make this more of a social past time and see who's about when I'm travelling. It's nice to smoke at home alone - I get totally lost in the moment, thinking on the smell, tastes, etc. In fact, it's almost hypnotic, but sometimes I wish there were someone to talk to!

You're right there, smoking in company is so much better.

Smoking in the company of other cigar smokers company is much better. Good to chat about your cigar cause anyone else and you end up talking about other stuff and you miss out on tasting your cigar. If that makes sense.

Does anyone else just smoke indoors? I dont have too many visitors and my partners friends all smoke so its not really an issue. I do have the windows open though.

I don't have anywhere but outside unfortunately so I'll be smoking less and smaller probably. No bad thing really [emoji4]
