This one is for R.E fans do you find the regional edition cigars don't taste the same as the regular produced cigars
few months back decided to treat myself to a couple of ramon allones petite belicoso's the taste for me was nothing like the brand should be,
they just wern't complex enough to be enjoyed.
Has any other member tried them and agree with what i said .

I really enjoy the RE series and getting ones from different parts of the world but I agree that REs aren't normally true to the brand, which is a shame as it would have been great if REs were are different take on the brand, but I suppose there are just too many to do that

Do any members know why as sheppsea said REs are not true to the brand.

I think this is probably far too sweeping a statement.

RE's are a mixed bag. For me about 80% poor, 15% good and 5% magic. The game is the chase. Some are really true to marca and some are not but this is also often true with regular production, due to the poor blend control of HSA.

Every year there are 2-4 absolute gems and hunting them down is the game. TBH unless one has quite a developed collection of regular production I would not worry too much about RE's. There is often better value in regular production.

I had a single RA petit Belicosos and was enough for me to buy a box. Might not be like a RASS or Gigante but was still enjoyable now. When it comes down to it, if you find a cigar young, you don't give up on it. You wait and age it with a little patience and see how it fares in a year or 2. To try an RE and dismiss it is narrow minded. In a few years it could be exceptional but you'd never know because once they're gone, they're gone.

the er i have found to be "truest" to its namesake brand is/was the allones celestial fino ... this cigar is what i expect from an allones cigar ...killer strength and plenty of leather .

the especial#2 was also pretty much what i expect from bolivar ... earthiness and above medium strength .

all in all tho ... i have never been too hypnotized by er's or el's .

That's the only trouble with REs and ELs. In a few years time they may be exceptional and you have to try and find some if any left.

Mark while it may be true that they could turn out to be stunning cigars in a year or two it would cost a fortune to by ever RA cigar made by the box in the hope they will be great,i think money would be better spent on regular production that you know you like but buy singles of RE and if you like buy a box latter on as I think you will find most are available for quite a while after release
