The spelling of it is amusing as well to be fair haha! Although the reporter seems to be playing at the accent and at knowing what he's on about

So took them out of the fridge today after putting them in there from the freezer. Decided not to smoke the 4 remaining bitten ones and take them apart and take some more pictures for you guys.
An example of the beetle dung that came out of the end of the cigar when tapped. Larger than the tobacco dust and far more regular.
Let's play spot the larvae.
No?
Still no?
Little critter in the middle of the screen.
Found two more of these things and heaps upon heaps of the dung.
This is the end result. All burnt now

Is this thread making anyone else paranoid? I keep finding it hard to resist the urge to empty my humi's and check every single one! I know it's unlikely but this shows it can happen and a fair amount of my own stock is Cuban bought. I'm so glad you caught this early enough, and thanks so much for sharing! Although I'm tempted to think this may be a case of 'ignorance is bliss'!Originally posted by WiganHoly crap, Your Dale Askew?

If "Cuban bought" means from when you were in Cuba Mr M, I'd say get some chill factor into your stock. Freeze and then you can be confident your sticks won't be vulnerable to the same fate. If you're not familiar with the freezing process, there is lots of info on the 'net."Go you good things...geddem int'ya"

Also lost another 4 last night. Checked everything and found 4 more that had heaps of dung pouring out of them but no obvious sign of damage even to the foot which is worrying. So lost 9 overall [emoji20]
Found this guy dead in the box as well. Only picture I have of the beetle itself I'm afraid.

Great photos & an educational story here. Would you mind if I posted these photo selsewhere Edamski, for the education of other BOTL?
I for one have smoked a stick with a hole in but didn't think about all the dung in there, better ditch them than smoke I reckon. Even freezing wouldn't have made these safe to smoke but would prevent them hatching out & contaminating your other stock.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Feel free mate, like I said if they can help just one person then it'll be worth while [emoji4] spread the word.
Yeah when I cut them up and saw how much is trapped inside I really didn't fancy it. Better to scrap them than have a revolting experience.

Cheers for use of the pics! Just been through this thread again & Rascal made a light hearted comment that if the weevils had survived for 6yrs... in the cigars. As I am sure he knows, they didn't survive for yrs in the cigar, the beetles flew into the shop & infected them there, or the previous place they were stored. If you have stock that's 2yrs old, nothing is going to hatch out unless you have introduced something else that is infected into your humi.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Just spent 10 mins trying to find this thread so I could compare the holes I found in a cigar.
Any chance we could get this stickyied please mods?
Any improvements to the search feature would be greatly appreciated as well.
This is what my hole looks like.
After comparing to the holes on here I think its just physical damage rather than infestation
