The whole industry is slowly going the way of free music, artists should make their cash by touring. Every artist should be thankful of every single person that listens to their music and free music opens up the industry to 1000's more artists......

how do you expect to get into new music if you have to pay to listen to a new album?
how do the bands make money when close to 20% of the cost of 'music' goes to the band?

if you discover new bands, you will promote them yourself. when that happens, you can buy paraphernalia and tickets for the bands so you actually support them. there, you won't support the American media giants who make 10x more than the artists they support or the German music conglomerate that goes around banning all forms of free music

My wife sometimes sits outside with me when I smoke, she sometime smokes the chocolate or vanilla flavoured cigars she has. Its quite nice to just relax and have a laugh with her, so I get where your coming from.

I agree that there needs to be a way to listen to music to see if you like it but what about monthly paid sites like Spotify? Surely those are good? Its a tricky one.

Spotify, Deezer, Rdio..... Etc all have free services as far as I know.

I know literally 100's of people who 'Illegally' download music though less so now free services arose, all of them go out and buy albums of artists they like, wether that's physically or digitally.

All of them are interested in going to see their favourite bands live..... I literally see no downside to free music. People would even still buy limited edition albums IMO.
