  • HOYO DE MONTERREY range

    Hi All,

Having tried the Epi No.2, it was way too light for my liking.

I then sampled a No.1 and preferred this. It didn't blow me away, but it's a v easy, pleasant smoke.

I'm about to try the petit robusto to see how this small vitola fairs up.

What's the deal with the Epicure Especial?

Is this more flavoursome than all of the above?

    Thanks,

The standard HdM range are all pretty mild .... the La Hoyo range, the ones with the (du or des in the names) are a bit stronger .... the du Marie and des Dieux are by far the best of the La Hoyo series, the rest can be a bit hit and miss.

From the same family stable, but with a different brand name is La Escepcion .... then you're talking badass, hardcore .... great flavour but strong.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

PR never fails for me, even though I find the #2 too light nowadays (despite smoking boxes of them when I started up the hobby!)

I love the HDM's, tried all above but the Epicure no.1, PR is my favourite had one today. It was like milk chocolate through the first third, then vanilla beany, then woody and floral; great!

                  HOYO DE MONTERREY range

I am a big fan of the HDM range. Favourites are ep2 the grand ep and the short Piramides.

Anyone got any information on when or if we will be seeing these come to our shores.

I doesn't exactly FAIL for me, but whenever I smoke one I can't help comparing it with the Monte PE, and then it goes backwards.

The Petit Piramides I've been very impressed with, a great smoke from day one of release!

Had the PR yesterday, but the windy weather didnt help.
                            Nice easy smoke. pleasanr.
Got the chance to buy 2012 Hoyo 1s, and kinda leaning toward them tbh

Have you had hoyo 1's before?
If you have, how do they differ?
I've got an epi 2 sat in the humi waiting, but haven't tried the 1's....
