As PeeJay says, whatever is appropriate for the stick in question. Always best to start with a little, as you can open it up a bit if it's tight (I tend to check before lighting) but jolly difficult to constrict an air-tunnel.
I've got a cuban crafters perfecto cutter. It's good for cutting just the right amount off. But with torps it needs just a little bit more. It can also depend on how tight the draw of the cigar is
