Dry boxing a 2006 Punch Churchill

Just asking for a bit of advice.
Birthday is Tuesday, and i have a lovely 2006 Punch Churchill I been saving for it.
It's been in a humidor here for years, should I dry box her ready for Tuesday?

I never dry box cigars and don't think you need to. But as wiser old butters says we need to know about your humi?

Martyn: dry boxing is keeping the humidity at a lower percentile for 2-7 days prior to smoking it. helps with burns or what not. some people think it's magical or converts the nicotine into angel dust. I don't know...

anyway, Robbie: i'd dry box it if I were you - and I mean the whole humidor. 70% is too high for Cubans IMHO. my main tupperdores are steady at 62 and my desktops are at 67. I've got a mate who ages his cigars at 80% and at 15deg. So do with it what you will. Everything you hear in cigars should be with a grain of salt.
But IMHO, 70% is too high.

Addendum: Derrek! you wet box, don't you?
if I can remember, carries on his sticks at 60-62% and places them in 65 prior to smoking.

Just goes to show you how different the cigar world is!

The poor beads have a hard time keeping it at 70, rest of house tends to be 75 lol I think I will dry box til Tuesday then.

I use silca cat litter mate and my tupperdor have never had any issues. Tupperdor is currently reading 69f and 66%rh humi is 64%rh

I would dry box it if its been at 70 but that just might be as I prefer a lower RH. Though how you going to dry box it rest of house is 75? Just asking as dont want to ruin your smoke for you

Boveda 62s are always a great idea.

Plus, you get to toss them in a ziplock bag when not in use to save their usage.

2006 should be ready to go ... but if you are worried about draw/performance ... clip it and draw test now ... a bit snug then drybox ... good draw then leave in the humi til time to smoke .

Can you just but some silica gel pouches? That would work the best I'd think. Or as Jizzer said a 62% Boveda or even better a dried out Boveda would work. You house is very humid at 75% though. Mine is about 59 - 64.
