  • Choosing what to get next...

Before I enter the land of boxes, I'm trying to figure out what I like and don't like as I'm new to this.
So I'm looking for suggestions, based on my minimal smoking history so far.
    Enjoyed:
    Punch Petit coronations
    Hoyo de monterrey Petit robustos
    H. Upmann Half Corona
    Inka cristales
    Average:
    H. Upmann Coronas Junior
    Trinidad Reyes
    Rafael Gonzalez Petit Coronas
    Hated:
    Arturo Fuente Short Story
    Chinchalero Novillo
    Inka Half corona

Sadly, I have some left that I didn't like, so I'll stick them in a separate tupperdore and see what leaving them does.

So based on the above and the fact that I'm a non smoker new to all this - any suggestions would be most welcome.

I'd suggest giving A Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas a try, easily one of the best PCs out there ... in my opinion. A good smoke for a young cigar but fabulous with a couple of years of age on it.

There's a distinct lack of Montecristo, Ramon Allones, Partagas, El Rey del Mundo, Oliva and Rocky Patel.

Theres some good stuff to go at in there too.

            Monte - No.2 or 4
Ramon Allones - RASS or RASCC
            Partagas - P2 or D4
El Rey - Demi Tasse or Choix Supreme
Oliva - Serie G Belicoso or Cameroon
Rocky Patel - 1990 Petit Corona

I agree with all of the suggestions posted already.

However I would suggest you get your hands on a Trinidad Reyes to try.

There are a number of excellent smokes available that are not expensive (~?10). Avoid buying anything in bulk for now, until you get a good idea of what kind of flavour profile you like. This usually changes a bit over time.

Stick around for a while, and I can probably help you out with a taster of most listed above

Now have a Monte 4, Partagas D4, El Ray Choix Supreme sat in the humi. More to follow.
I actually think the researching/buying is as much fun as the smoking!

                          Sounds about right.
I started out with a spreadsheet that said what I'd smoked and when. Now that sheet has 18 columns!
Have also added sheets for potential box purchases, a recommendations list, an order list and a wish list.....
Keeps me out of trouble anyway.....

This has made me feel much better, I thought I was extremely sad for having a spreadsheet, I feel much happier now I know someone else has.

I thought that to start with - but then spoke to a few guys on here and apparently we're perfectly 'normal'....
