Exactly the same here. I've got a couple mates who say they like a cigar but I can't say I have ever seen them with one. That said I'm not the most social of animals, so they may chain smoke Cohiba's when they are out and about for all I know!

Upmann Majestics and Regalis are cheaper than the half coronas, eh.
      Longer, too :y

One of my non-cigar smoking friends always gets one of what im smoking when I go round. Its a fair trade off as its one of the only places I can smoke inside.

It was hard at first getting a cigarette smoker to see the 'point of not inhaling' tobacco, but now he looks forward to it just as much as I do.

I think it all depends on how a good a friend the person is, if its a good pal then I don't mind giving a good stick, if its a friend of a friend that I don't really like they may a not get such a good stick.

Interesting replies there; it seems that it is more about educating in the hope of converting them to the wonders of Cigars rather than just fobbing them off with a cheapo you don't mind losing.

1 Which flavoured cigars does your wife like?

I fear this could be a rathe leading question??

I must admit that, whilst not my cup of tea, I think the Picadillos is not a bad cigar - and something which, had I got any, would probably be something I'd consider ideal for handing out. If I sense someone is keen on trying cigars, or have seen them with something occasionally, then I head straight for the H.Upmann Half Corona. Light enough for a novice, yet enough going on to get them interested. Have not failed to hook them with this choice. Problem is, the buggers keep wanting more!

That's a lovely thought, chico, but I find this hard to believe (despite the posts)

Clearly, me and the Coro Boys don't fit that catagory...NO WAY!

Now, on the rare ocasions that I come across someone who is sincere in their quest for the puro... than sure, I give 'em a puro and start to educate them on the fine art of smoking and enjoying a Cuban Cigars!

                  But mostly it's..."
Hey dude! You got any of those Cuban Cigars you're always talking about "(as they look around and snicker with their buds trying to impress me and their jerk-off amigos).

To this I reply: "Yo Yo Yo! No man, I'm ain't packing today, but it's all good....you can get sum at the local head shop (i.e., LCdH). And dude! While your there, pick some for me Yo Yo Yo!...See what I'm sayin'? "

Funny thing, they never get their own OR pick some up for me. And they never bring up the subject again.

The person who got me into cigars started me on PSD5's and Trinny Rob T's. Pretty generous. I do recall giving up at third three to start with but soon grew to like them, now love them. I tend to be tight with people I think don't care and generous with everyone who does smoke cigars or shows genuine interest. I love to share and I'm always keen to have more cigar buddies but the thought of a truly great smoke being wasted isn't a good prospect.

That is exactly it; one of my brother in laws I am happy to share a decent cigar with, Usually at Christmas; as we both sit there with a drink and will smoke and chat for ages.

Where as another brother in law is a cigarette smoker and when I give him a stick he just puffs away without looking like he enjoys it- but will ask for one every time we go round for a BBQ.
