Sharing your sticks

Just wondering whether any of you guys have 'cheap sticks' to share with non smoking friends?

Whenever I go to a BBQ and light up i always get asked if by friends if they can try some of mine or can they have one- and when I hand them a stick it seems they either puff away like a cigarette or take 3 or 4 puffs and stub it out; which is very frustrating

I don't have any cigar smoking friends except the ones on here but our biggest buyer whose name escapes me always buys cheapies to hand out to mates. Buy Guanos, that should put them off blagging off you!

Although I did gift a BHK to an old work colleague/friend (ciggie smoker) on his birthday,
to which I had one also with him after work in a beer garden

I might hand them a stick that could be a good introduction to cigars if I think they might take to it.

A few of my friends will often ask for a couple puffs on a cigar that I'm smoking but we're like a big bunch of brothers so I have no problems passing it over.

If they ask for a stick I hand them something that's not going to be missed if they give up half way through or too strong or complex for them, handed a mate a Monte Open Jr. the other day for example.

I wouldn't say I have sticks for this but when I'm smoking with a friend I'll usually second guess how they're going to treat it and what they're used to if anything at all and go from there

I have to buy my wife the flavoured cigars- Chocolate and Cherry are generally the two flavours she is happy with.

Interesting thoughts. I gifted a R&Y Tubed no:3 a few weeks back to a non smoker who has since told me he has picked up a few more since; he is in Geneva so thats only good when he comes over every few months.

Are the Chinchalero's worth a punt for the money, and handing out?

I totally agree with this one, down to every word. Monte Open Jr is my go to stick for giving to novices, either that or the H. Upmann Coronas Junior. You don't want to scare them off with a big, full bodied smoke which you would also run the risk of seeing killed off before its time!

Much better to educate them with something nice than fob them off with something cheap though. You may end up creating a new BOTL that you can eventually pinch smokes off!

My missus is really my mate do most things with her my little drinking buddy i call her. But anyway look at me blubbering on she doesnt like cigars which is great and all my work mates think am weird for like cigars haha

Agreed, I tend to avoid Chinchalero's, without sounding too much like a salesman, the Inka Secret Blend cigars are FAR superior to the chinch' brand and don't cost too much more.

Yes, I have a supply of NCs expecially for those who are "more-show-than-go" when it comes to appreciating the almighty puro.

I started this practice about ten years ago after a gathering where I supplied a box of Cohiba Siglo 1s. The next day, I found most of the puros less than 1/2 smoked and stubbed out in ash trays or smashed on the ground.

Ever since then, I pass out NCs (if I pass out anything at all) to those I believe are merely being sociable until they prove their loyalty and affection for the puros.
