    Just a wee interesting observation...

I bought a box of Trini Reyes about 9 months ago, smoked them down to the last two and LOVED each and every one. I was delighted to find a HK supplier with the same box code. I was quite surprised when I opened the box and saw they were a very different colour....the new one is lighter.

I kind of thought they'd be identical to be honest. Not tried one yet but I'm sure they'll be excellent...the seal is only a few digits apart too

    Similar.

I have had the same thing hapen with apparently identical boxes of Epicure #2 Stevieboy.
No idea why this is the case at all.You would think a similar box code and release date would mean the cigars would be the same.

Just smoked my first Trindad Robusto Extra this evening.Outstanding smoke.

      Weird isn't it!?!?!

Glad you're enjoying Trinidads Herr Whisk!!! There's not a bad one amongst them. All taste excellent but I rate the Reyes as the best...

Cigars are sorted by colour and then boxed.
Boxes leaving the factory on the same day (and thus will have the same box code) can have widely varying colours. That's normal.
I like the Reyes a lot, Coloniales too.

Senor Ryan is correct, senor stevieboy. I have had similar experiences over the years with different wrapper shades on puros with same box codes and close warrenty seal numbers and my reaction was like yours ---WTF?

But I also discovered through intensive research and analytical analysis (sparking up and smoking 'em) that both shades smoked/tasted just fine.

In fact, I recently came across a few boxes of very exclusive Juan Lopez puros (624 boxes produced) that vary quite a bit in wrapper color even though the boxes had consective numbers (#s 424/624 and 425/624), yet the wrappers are consistent within each box.

But you already knew that, didn't you young stevielad

Names TJ, TJCoro, and I'm a big fan of consistent puros.

*BTW senor, why do your pictures always expand the width of the thread...or is it just me?

Aye it's made, but if you see the sorting in the factory you can see why it happens. As said, they're all colour matched before boxing. Amazing the detail they go in to.

Right on Whisk, The robusto extra is one of my favorite smokes...shame about the price though, a bit too high to make it a regular occurrence.

I got a box of 12 last year and took it to New York with me, One drunken weekend later and it was all gone!

I'm sure it was, pity I cant remember much else about it! I do remember being driven by a huge Davidoff store in Manhattan, regretfully I didn't insist on stopping...
