  • Cab suggestions for minimum ageing

    hello,

My cousin has a wedding in Italy at the beggining of July. He wants to provide the cigars after trying some of my own at my sisters wedding recently, these were aged by myself for a year prior and were vastly improved from when i bought them. my concern is that if he spends a great deal of money on a cab 25 or 50 that they wont be as good as they could be with even a few months of ageing. Aged cigars are easy to purchase but i want to know if there are any suggestions for cigars that smoke well and taste good straight out of the box?

    cheers,

    Raf

Hi Raf, what Cigars did you supply at your sisters wedding?

        Hi Rafael.

If I was getting married in Italy I'd go for some Toscano, unique flavour and fun for everyone cutting them in half to share

Cuban straight out the box good smokes, I'd go for a playsafe cigar like Hoyo du Monterrey Epicure No2 or Petit Robusto's.

Sounds like NC's could fit the bill! The AF Flor Fina 8-5-8 is well priced and should smoke well from day one pretty much.

          If your set on Cuban

BHK's as PeeJay said have a reputation for smoking well young, but if your after cab numbers then it's going to cost an absolute bomb.

The H&F aged Diplomaticos 2001's that are currently about are pretty good, also the H&F Hoyo Du Dauphin 1998 is pretty flavour intensive.

I hear that the RA Specially Selected smoke well and best young though I haven't yet tried one for myself.

Grab some more aged Mag 46's then, they really are great and a good size for a wedding that won't intimidate anyone.

Why not email your preferred suppliers and ask for a list of box codes. Some will have a few years on them. But not enough to be classed as vintage so no premium.

Smoke well young, but if you can get a +3 years Cab so much the better. I would suggest your cousin buy them in Italy though.

If I had to make the choice, I'd buy PL PC's it's a 50 cab that smokes great fresh its also at a good price point.
