Lilly Savage is the queen of Liverpool? I thought it was Cilla Black?

I couldn't smoke the nub anyway, it's usually thoroughly chewed and nasty. I like to taste the smoke and the stick at the same time haha. Probably not the right thing to do but it brings me great pleasure. Like most things you're not supposed to do.

When alone, at home, smoking a cigar and drinking a whisky whilst watching Farscape, I smoke my cigar for as long as it gives me pleasure.

In polite company I lay it to rest no later than a centimetre from the band (probably around 2-3).

Nubbing a cigar in public is tantamount to licking your plate clean at a 4 star restaurant, pretty obscene behaviour in my opinion.

Being a noob I'm sure I commit cigar faux pas's left, right and centre. That said I enjoy them none the less.

Who gives a shit? Its about enjoying the experience and if someone's sensibilities are offended then you shouldn't be smoking with them anyway

Exactly. Life is to short to get hung up on stuff like this. I'm sure it would horrify some people I take a nice aged rum and dump coke it it! At the end of the day it's my rum, I paid for it and I'll enjoy it how ever the hell I like.

well well. hold on John, we've gotta get on to another topic now.
i'm indeed a firm believer of one's rights to rectally inserting ONLY vintage cigars. they're your cigars and you paid for them. do whatever the hell you want with them.

but the thing is that if someone really wants to learn how to smoke them, it's our responsibility as BotL to somehow guide them in their direction. that includes letting them know about how to further enjoy the cigars. methods like:
                                "
keeping CCs at 65% humidity instead of 70%,
                                purging,
toasting the foot instead of just going for it,
                                ageing cigars,
                                "
have all helped me grow in my cigar experience.

Naturally, when one mentions that purging is the work of Satan OR if someone says keeping the cigars at 90% humidity before lighting helps with flavours, we should back off. Recommend them try a purge or two and try dropping the humidity before you bash it. and then kindly prod them in the right direction...

unfortunately, (with personal experience) purely written words sometimes conveys implicit meanings that were never there. always a fine line that we have to dance around when "telling" someone what to do.
