Personally it looks to me as if someone went to cut the cap and slipped, and the picture is an extreme close up of the result!A funny shape and packaged like this. Very good by all accounts.

Now I know what it is here is a bit about it with a review I found
'This cigar took its name from the beautiful Monumento a los Heroes de la Restauraci?n, a monument in Santiago dedicated to the fallen heroes of the Dominican revolution. The monument is shaped like an obelisk and so are the cigars, whose unique shape can only be rolled by the factory?s best torcedores. La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Obelisco features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper with a Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan long fillers.
Yuri Guillen, Michael Giannini and Rick Rodriguez, aka Team La Gloria Cubana, collaborated to bring this cigar to the public. Team La Gloria also developed a unique crescent-shaped or half-circle box, which was a first for the premium cigar category. This attractive presentation houses 25 Obelisco cigars.
TASTING NOTES: The Artesanos de Obelisco opens up with flavors of cedar, grass and black pepper spice on the finish. The retrohale brought smoky cedar and white pepper. As the cigar progressed it displayed some natural tobacco sweetness that tied the flavors together nicely.
The combination of a square-pressed cigar and a pyramid shape channeled the smoke nicely through the cigar and provided plenty of smoke with each puff.
The burn line was slightly ragged and the medium gray ash was a bit flaky, so I tapped off in half-inch chunks.
FINAL THOUGHTS: The second half brought more of the same flavors and the cigar was not as complex as a year ago. Nevertheless, the body and strength are in the medium to medium-full range and the flavor profile was pleasant and should appeal to a broad audience.
I have seen these cigars being bunched and rolled and it is truly a sight to behold. I can recommend these cigars, if for no other reason, because they represent the pinnacle of the cigar rolling craft. Only two people in the factory are skilled enough to bunch these cigars and only one person can roll them.
Besides the incredible craftsmanship that goes into the manufacture of these sticks, the blend makes for a great smoking experience. After a year and a half, these cigars are still smoking great and they continue to have enough horsepower to age gracefully for 3-5 years and perhaps beyond. At around $8 per stick, save your pennies and give these a try. The Obelisco is a treasure in more ways than one.''Cigars are a hobby, cigarettes an addiction'
