  • Where do you smoke? and with whom?

I mentioned yesterday a blog I follow from New York where the owner of the blog Silla captures some great photos from cigar lounges in NYC.
This has got me thinking about the elitist element of cigars in the UK (prices etc) and also the fact that it seems that a lot of us smoke alone mostly relegated to the garden or garage etc.

    What do you all think?

I have a workmate who also smokes so I can have one at work a few times a week sometimes other than that is a relaxing thing I do at home.

At home as well, the attitude towards smoking areas etc. in the UK is nothing more than childish.

no problem Mark, in the summer I sometimes do like to smoke on the beach or looking out to sea.

Mainly in my garden alone (which is not a problem as I appreciate the time to myself ), but occasionally I might share a cigar with a friend who comes round and every couple of months (and more often in the summer) I meet with my brother, brother-in-law and my brother's best friend where we try a new cigar - the only time where I'm the aficionado

If I manage to finish work early I try to pop into JJF and smoke one upstairs, but if I finish on time I don't get there in time before it closes I want to start trying a couple of the other tobacconists sampling lounges and COSAs around London though

Nothing in Derby or Notts as I'm aware of so usually at home in the garden, sometimes our lass comes out too but she doesn't smoke. Rarely, weather permitting, have a smoke with the lads at the pub though they can't really cope with a whole cigar so usually bail out halfway through.

Mainly in my garden on my own. Sometimes smoke with a mate at in his BBQ hut which is great! Its warm dry and there is always food and alcohol!

There are a couple of nice pubs with OK smoking areas, but really only comfortable in the summer

Wherever, whenever and with whoever I can get away with!

Recently it's just been in my car driving to the city.

I tried smoking in the car on the way home once, had the window half down for obvious reasons.... The wind made the cigar burn hot and harsh and I was constantly worried about the ash falling on me.

Is there something I was doing fundamentally wrong? Lol

I have my drivers window fully down, hold the cigar in my hand on the steering wheel which seems to shield it from any wind and just hold it out the window whenever the ash looks suspiciously like falling, turn the heating up a notch and you don't even get cold (heated seats help here haha) I've got a ferbreeze air freshner and by the next day can't ever tell a cigar was smoked in there! Just don't smoke when stationary they really does seem to stink out the car!
