    With regards to supermarkets they will change/refund product as they just give it back/fine the supplier (I know because I supply a couple of supermarkets and has happened a once or twice)
    One of the big supermarkets had a policy of giving a ?5 voucher for every complaint they stopped it after they noticed the same gentlemen had taken a 69p pack of dates back 17 times, they story was told to me by the company who supplied the dates as the supermarket would just charge him for the voucher plus there administration cost as you can imagine he was not to pleased

      Not too pleased!? I'd have been bloody livid! I can well imagine he wasn't a fan of this... If the product is returned and refunded, passing that on is one thing, but offering an additional ?5 should have been on their own back! Personal opinion, of course, haha.

        I think we would agree that the wording could be reviewed but ultimately one for Deano and Mitch to look at.

        Wiggy, not sure why you are quite so upset though, seems disproportionate?? To quote one example from the hundreds of products available seems a bit unfair. Mitch advertises on this forum as he does in many other places. If any other UK retailers wish to advertise I am sure Deano would be delighted to hear from them.

        NB - I have not bought from C.Gars from years.

          As explained to the client,we do not price match retrospectively. In this case over 3 months from order date.

          With over 6000 sku's this would be unmanageable and unreasonable. I know of no business that will retro a price match after 3 months.

          At time of purchase I believe price was competetive in the market.

          Regardless I offered the client the opportunity to return his Edit: product despite being 2 months out of returns period for full refund. I dont know how i could be more fair.

          He is then free to buy from anyone he can find at a lower price.We dont compete on price with Simon at MSS who is both a friend and an excellent cigar merchant.I have no desire to take business off him for a few pence or a few pounds.

          I even offered a bunch of cigars from my personal humidor as a gesture of goodwill but received no reply.

          Yes,my price analyst Liam checks prices and adjusts constantly but prices are ever changing for a multitude of reasons hence we gaurantee to price match at time of order on request if we are not the lowest in the UK.

          Comments like 'avoid like the plague' are just uneccesary. everyone has a choice, no one is forced to do anything they dont wish to.

          i have checked every piece of correspondence regarding this complaint and can only find genuine,clear,polite and very rapid replies.

            As an outsider it seems somewhat a shame that this was aired like this. Im sure there are oppinions on both sides but if the 3 month thing is true and I would be surprised if a retailer would just randomly pick a timescale. Then I think it's unreasonable to ask for a price match after that timescale.

            Out of interest not that it's any of my business other than its been posted publically [MENTION=13417760]Wigan[/MENTION] what is bad service about being offered a full refund or some of Mitch's personal sticks?

            I'm sure you feel the way you do for a reason but perhaps a little less ambiguity on the matter?

            Or is it really just sour grapes?
