Wiggy, you're going to have to put your argument /evidence up here mate. I've just checked a handful of Montes on both sites and CGars came up trumps on price every time. I personally have nothing invested in defending CGars, (never had a stick from them) so what have you been comparing?? As for putting you off being here, with all due respect, don't be daft mate

Its not down to me to check for cheaper because I am not making the claim. C.gars is.
Shouldn't be making claims they cant live upto. Matching it if you notice at the time? That is just silly, you would buy at the cheaper place

The 225 is a good price on MySmokingShop tbf and there's a couple of other sticks where there's a few pence difference between C.Gars and MSS but I certainly wouldn't say to "avoid C.Gars like the plague", once the 225 price difference is sorted then there's nothing to it. Mitchell is a great chap, I had a plugged Lonsdale once and he refunded me the cost of it without a quibble; that's not a service you see everyday, it's the whole experience of quick postage, friendly service and (on the whole) good prices that means I buy with C.Gars most of the time.
Imagine walking into Sainsbury's and saying "my tomato soup tasted awful, I want my money back", I'm sure they'd ring the nearest mental asylum pretty quick and send you packing; C.Gars don't, and I'm not affiliated with them at all I just rate their excellent service.

Cgars have excellent customer service. So do mysmokingshop and I'm sure Mitch from Cgars has been very complimentary about Mysmokingshop on here.

Cgars will price match without any quibbles, Simon has really good prices and an excellent selection. Cgars do free delivery over 50 quid.

In short they are both IMHO excellent retailers and I occasionally buy from both. If you dont like one of them for whatever reason then use a different retailer.

Cgars do sponsor this forum, and I like this forum. Personally I'll continue to buy from both on occasion.

I disagree, if an item 'doesn't work' (and in effect a plugged cigar doesn't work) you should expect to get your money back, you didn't go to Mitch to say you didn't like the cigar, you said it was unsmokeable and not fit for purpose.

Its not like going to Sainsbury's to say the soup tasted awful, its more like going there because the can was empty when you got home, or there was a (very strange) defect with the packaging that prevented you from opening it

I do shop with CGars as I find the instore pick up for online orders convenient and have always been happy with the service I receive, but I find MSS to have as good and often better prices and try to order with them whenever I can, I would encourage everyone to give them a go as Simon is also a gentleman and provides excellent service (I would also say try other shops around the UK, most can offer something - the LCDH has an excellent selection for example)

There is a world outside of CGars and as has been made clear here the price match/lowest price guarantee doesn't mean you no longer need to shop around.

Using his example of RA 225, if one were to buy the 100 Aniversary Humi with 100 sticks a ?5 per stick difference accounts to ?500 difference. If someone was crazy enough to drop almost five grand on cigars without looking around they would have been stung for around 1/8, 12.5% the cost of the cigars.

I think what we seem to be trying to get at here is having 'Lowest prices in the UK Guaranteed' in big bold letters on the advert is obviously not true and should be removed. Most sensibly replaced with 'UK Price match guarantee'.

Agreed - and a shame to see it is ostensibly no different to when this was raised 20 months ago. "Lowest Prices Guaranteed" implies that they have shouldered the burden of ensuring that their prices are the lowest, "Price Match Guarantee" is much more reflective of the actual service offered.

It is a shame that it's still a cause for discussion though, as Mitch and his team offer such wonderful service otherwise.
