  • The old tubos question

Now I know that this has been discussed before but I would really like to get everyones ideas on the subject. Especially anyone who has lots of tubos.
So the question should tubos be stored in or out of the tubes in a humi. I would think that the older type of tubos with the screw caps are not airtight but the newer type that slide together look like they maybe.
    What do you think?

    Store them in the tubes.

    They're not airtight
    They protect the cigars
    Takes up less space

      Like Ross said.

      Think of it this way.
      1) They're put in the tubes for a reason.
      2) They're tubed at perfect humidity
      3) The retailers keep them in their tubes, in boxes under humidified storage conditions .... for years sometimes.

      Simple really.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Now a little detour (if I may ):
Should I actually put a few of my untubed RYJ Churchill 25s in as many RYJ Churchill tubes as I have, or do they not matter?
I mean they do come in 25 tubes boxes for a reason I guess. And the 25 untubed are normally box pressed too......

is it ever good to mix tubes? I've a San Cristobal in a Davidoff tube right now, a Secretos in a Siglo I tube, an LGC in a siglo V tube in order to make transport easier (didn't want to bring my cigar caddy to carry around 3 sticks).

Personally I wouldn't put untubed cigars in tubes long term but no problem with using them to transport short term is fine.

I wouldn't bother tubing up a loose stick unless I wanted to stick it in my pocket on the way out the door, much like I wouldn't bother untubing all my sticks to put them in the humi! Mixing sticks and tubes would not matter either!

C.Gars do a great little box of 4 EMS tubes that I love to have on hand, stick a stick in one and head out the door, won't matter if you don't smoke it, or dont get around to sticking it back in your humi for a while!

I have a few tubos in my humidor, i take the lid off the tube but leave the cigar in it, that way it still gets exposed to all the humidification goodness circulating 😊

I just stick the cigar still in the tube in with my other sticks, like tippexx said this is how the retailers have them.

I always keep them in the tubes, wouldn't consider taking them out

Anyone else had trouble with white mould on the wrapper when you keep them in the tube?

the only white mould i've ever gotten on my sticks (and ones from a Mag 48 box.. but let's not count that ) are from tubes.
RYJ Churchills, Monte Petits, Cohiba IIs, etc. They all seem to bloom up on me when i leave them alone for even a few weeks.
