    So heres my problem..

Friday night didnt finish a smoke went to work saturday and when i came home i thought missus had threw it out but to my horror had put it in my humidor which it then spent 9hrs stewing in there. So now instead of smelling of nice smokes and cedar it stinks of gone on cigars.

So any tips on how to get rid of that smell and getting my nice wood smell back. Shall i leave lid open for a few hours and will smokes be ok

    Cheers
    Sean

Oh lord, this does not sound good. Me personally I would take the cigars out and tupperdor them. Then I would air the humidor for as long as it takes.

Did you go mental or did you manage to contain yourself? I would have probably gone bananas!

Ok, drastic times call for drastic measures. Put some Baking soda in a small bowl (dry) and put this in your humidor and seal it.

Leave this in there a couple days and then air out thoroughly.

Odours are generally acidic and the soda should neutralize the environment without giving off a bad smell of its own.

i'd just smoke em ASAP. it's not a big deal for the sticks. you should still get some decent burns and flavours out of em. just keep em in a tupperdore somewhere as previously mentioned and away from cedar or other sticks.

the humidor will be the main problem...... i normally use a concoction of bicarbonate of soda and some very VERY cheap coffee to get rid of odours in either my shoes, closets, humidors, etc.

Really Jeremy..... Coffee??? What's the rational behind that one mate? Just seems a strange one is all as it will surely make things smell of, well coffee.

out of all the ideas i've tried that absorb odours:
                              Cat Litter,
Drier sheets with baking soda spread,
                              Activated Charcoal,
                              Oats,
                              Coffee,

Coffee seems to work the best. try grounding them up first actually. I think that's the reason why all those scents sections at the duty free has small cups of coffee beans everywhere. to stabilise the odour or some shite.......

(Note: the others still work! but i find coffee to be the cheapest, easiest to find, and moderate effectiveness..)
