I’ve been browsing the forum for a day or so and thought I’d sign up as you certainly know your stuff!
I’ve recently developed a liking for cigars this comes as a bit of a surprise as I quit smoking roll ups all together in March this year. After I was given a pack of 3 Romeo + Julieta as a gift, I thoroughly enjoyed them and when I took a trip to Florence, Italy earlier this month, I experimented with some more cigars.
In short, I tried a box of three Backgammon (at 1 euro 30 each!) and a single machine rolled from the dominican. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the Backgammon, it’s a German manufactured 100% Cuban Tabaco smoke, which was a little dry at first but improved over time and had enough character to consider buying a box. I personally didn’t rate the Dominican brand at all, I forget the name but that’s about how good it was.
I’ve struggled to find a supplier of the Backgammon and personally can’t afford to keep a stock of Romeo + Julieta. At a little over a euro each, those backgammon’s are worth considering but I came here to ask if I should be looking at something a little more proven, for a reasonable price.
When I walked into my local tobacconist I ended up buying a single Don Ramos to try out, a box of 10 of these come out at ?66 so that’s not bad!

Lastly I thought you’d be interested in a little purchase of mine. Something I bought a few months back and hardly used until now. This little multi tool pen was my companion abroad, cutting cigars is a little more fun and will you sit there smoking you can carve matches, fix your watch or just have a fiddle with something.
