Ok so maybe some of you more experienced guys can give me a bit of a heads up,
I've got a few Cubans trying to gain some age and so far I'm managing to keep them sleeping by smoking NC's but I'm wondering if there are some Cuban sticks with a reputation of being good(or better than others)outta the box to say 6 month resting so I can keep my sticky fingers off the stash I've already got,
In an ideal world I'd have enough cash to buy boxes to age but finances just don't allow...one day maybe,
    Cheers guys

Party shorts and psdn4 have been smoking rott lately. Also ask your merchant if they have anything with a couple of years on it.

Rafel Gonzales have a label inside the box say smoke immediately or wait a year. I prefer a yr or two but maybe you'll enjoy them fresh? There are on the cheaper side of Havanas as well

Possibly a bit of a boring suggestion but I almost never bothered ageing monte 4s and 5s when I first started smoking and they always tasted fine to me.

Same here with Monte 4's, mine were good smokes without ageing

That's the way to do it. Although personally I would start from what I want rather than from what's available. A hands-on merchant is best. Simon at mysmokingshop for example will e-mail back a picking box date in no time.

HDM Epi 2's are usually pretty good without much age. If you're buying singles online ask the merchant how old the particular sticks you are after are. Never had a bad or green stick from CGARS to be fair!

As a rule of thumb, the lighter a cigar is the less it's worth ageing and vice versa. I.e. Cohibas will generally age quite well. The reason is basically because tobacco leaves have high ammonia and nicotine levels. With age, the levels drop, overpowering the natural aroma far less.

Really. Then ageing QdO, SLR, ERdM or LGC would be a complete waste of time then, which is odd, as they age extremely well.

                      This may help:-

Just finished a Monte 2 from 2002. An the mysterious 'Granny face powder' showed herself in the third stage.... the same character of a Nann...

Got to agree with tippex here, unfortunately there are no hard rules.

                            ERdM's and LGC's are a cool medium.

A light (and therefore not worth ageing) is something like a fonseca.

I started a similar thread to this a while back. If you can find it, it's got about four pages of suggestions I found useful.

EDIT: I think it was named something like "Which Cubans don't need ageing" or something like that.
