I've just had to relocate one of mine now the heating is on, could be as simple as that.

Unfortunately I don't know any more details than that because the instructions were generalised

I care little if my humi is at 64 or 68, don't think it is so important any more. Spent years obsessing about it.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

I too am not obsessive about the range but I don't like it going above 70 (think a lot of complaints about tight draws on Havanas come down to this, I think thats why some people seem to suffer from this more than others. If it's plugged that's something else but something that's a bit over filled can be smokable on the drier side but bring the humidity up & it closes off). I have had probelms with tight draws at 70+ & split feet at 74. 64-68 ideal for me but a couple under or over will happen throughout the yr & through frequent use periods ect.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Some great info in there sarge lol I am using silica cat litter (I have also seen plenty use the cat litter with blue markings, but some say that may be scent, others say it is not...Bob Martin does some of the colourless stuff which I use just to be on the safe side.
Some of that and a caliber4 or one of these:
and some deionised water from halfords or whatever and you're set for life.
Even with the digital ones, i am quite confident the accuracy is not exact, these aren't lab grade pieces of equipment, but as pretty much everyone uses more or less the same stuff/methods, as others have said, being overly obsessive/precise is probably a waste of time.

Getting an accurate relative humidity reading isn't easy and the sensors aren't cheap. Given the cost of the cigar oasis xl I was hoping it would be reasonably close - but after using it over the last few years i've had to increase it's setting to stop the cigars from feeling dry.
I bought a Sensirion SHT75 sensor which is factory calibrated and accurate to +/- 1.8% RH and it's been in the humidor for a few weeks now so it's had time to settle.
There is a variation of ~9% between the two, which whilst not surprising, I'd hoped for a difference of around 4-5%

Here you can see 77.2 v 68.4
