    Hello all,

I am looking to get into cigars to break up pipe smoking and to try something new. I have been doing lots of research but nothing beats chatting to those who do. I will be looking to keep around 20 cigars at a time so a humidor is needed i believe? Because I am just starting out and because I live on student loans i have decided to use a Tupperware box as a humidor. The problem I'm facing now is what humidity should my cigars be, what cigars should I buy and how to i accessories the humidor so it works properly? I will attach a pic of the humidor so you can see and advice what I need ect.

    thanks in advance
    Chris

      Hi,
I started on a 9L lock & something Tupperware box from Amazon. You don't need any cedar in there but I got a couple of old cigar boxes.
Digital hydrometer and some 65% humi beads.
And Bobs your uncle, so easy and keeps my humi at 67%

          No, it's not needed
It's supposed to help keeping a constant humi, but not necessary.
Your cigar shop/online site could throw you a few box inserts if you ask nicely for a bit of cedar in your tupperdor.
          smells nice too.

Don't buy the boxes, if you pay postage I'm sure some on here will send you some, Including me

As for humidity I use 60% for cubans and 65% for non cubans. Buy either a boveda pack or some beads and a digital hygrometer. Try the petite coronas of the various marcas as they give a good idea of the flavour/strength of their perspective brands

Couple of quid, the spanish ceder that thier made of is good at maintaing humidity and its what most humidors are made from, Its not a nececity with a tuperdore but it can be a nice touch.

If you use a boveda pack, i wouldn't even bother with a hygro. Especially in tupperware. Spend the money on a few nice sticks!
