  • Anyone tried Phatash?

A few of these arrived for me today (Phatash Cubano Reserve Torpedo). They were recommended as they are similar to Punch apparently.
I have never had any Phatash before. I will try one this weekend. Has anyone else had the pleasure? (or otherwise).

I have never heard of them, it certainly looks nice.
After a quick search the only thing that would slightly worry me is the overly in your face "Discount Offers" they seem to have on them everywhere I have seen them.
I suspect so long as you go into them expecting something along the lines of the given price and not the perhaps frivolous claimed RRP then a fair reflection should be had.

Oh I am not expecting a Cohiba (not that I have ever had a Cohiba to compare it to ) but if they are anything like Punch I will be pleased.
I did confirm that they are hand rolled, long filler - here is the blurb -

The Phatash Cubano Reserve Corojo Cigars are hand made in Honduras by STC Cigars, a company that has quickly gained a reputation for putting out some outstanding smokes, such as Gran Habano Blend.
The Father and Son team, Guillermo and George Rico, take pride in creating new and different cigars. The Phatash Cubano Reserve Corojo uses a blend of Columbian, Peruvian and Honduran fillers, a Nicaraguan-grown Corojo leaf for the binder, and to top it they selected a dark and oily, 5 year aged Cuban seed Corojo wrapper.
This outstanding combination of well aged, complex tobaccos has been slow-aged to bring out distinctive and mouth watering flavors. This full bodied smoke has lots of flavor with a rich cedar flavor with a bold and spicey finish. To ensure that these cigars are always of superior quality and flavor, there will only be 20,000 cigars produced annually.

Obviously they are going to make them sound great, but I have had Gran Habano #5 before and enjoyed them. So if they made them there is a chance that these will be OK.

Nope not tried these before, always open to trying new ones though. Had a mixed batch of NC's brought back for me from Vegas as a gift, I'm still working through them, some nice some average ones...

Well, I just smoked my first Phatash.

Aesthetically it wasn't brilliant - dark grey ash that didn't like to hang on too long, but burnt evenly.

Flavour - I really liked it! It started off too peppery for me, but then calmed down to a remarkably smooth, but full strength, spicy smoke.

Not a Punch, but excellent value .
