  • American Brands in the UK

    Guys,

American Brand might be the wrong term..I see a lot of Cigars online, youtube etc that I would like to try - Foundry Wells, Ghurka, som e of the other Alec Bradleys etc

There doesnt appear to be a UK supplier, is buying from the US the only option?

    Thanks

    Stevey

Non Cuban is probably the most used term, America or in some cases Germany are your best bet.

I would like to get my hands on some Gurkha sticks, I think unfortunately its a simple matter of not being available in the UK.

Possibly the best place to leave this is that if you ever go on holiday, look for availability while your away and bring back your allowance... Beyond that I don't believe this is the correct forum to discuss where this thread could go.

I bought some non cubans from an American site, they were kind enough to post them all the way to me here in London.
I bought a few Warlock Robustos. "Deleted"

Can I post their website name here (or is it against forum rules)?

        Thanks,

I dont see the problem with discussing buying from the US - If its the only place to buy certain brands and we are aware of the duties and taxes and understand that they are to be paid.

Rule 4 - Only UK sources, with applicably applied UK tax and duty, of cigars may be discussed.

You're not missing much if you don't get your hands on a Gurka, muchacho!

TBH, I never met a Gurka I enjoyed with one exception...and that was a custom blend for a particular occasion that was accidentally shipped to a certain vendor who sold them at a discount price rather than ship them back to the maker!

                Whew! That was a mouthful.

Hey el P! As I remember, they came in a pretty snazzy box!

(Hurumph!) That they did, blu balls....which often is the first tip off!

Well, if you found an exceptional one TJ I won't disagree with you, but by and large they're bloody awful things .... and tragically expensive some of them.
If you want to, you can.

                          Thanks,

A lot of people love the Padron range. Excellent construction and consistency. Not me, I find them overly spicy and dry (mouth feel) to my palette.

But we are all different try and see how you like them. Does not matter what others think, only what you like
