  • Any ?20+ recommendations ?

Ive not smoked many in this price bracket but wanting a couple of ?20+ sticks for a special night.

I'd hope there's not many bad ones at that price and I know taste is a personal thing ......
But, if you were to recommend 1 stick at the ?20-?30'ish mark, what would it be?
    Thx.

h upmann 'sir winston', preferably with some age on it (?22 approx), cohiba maduro 5 'genios' (?26 approx), trinidad robusto extra (?22 approx) or fundadores (?20 approx)!!

standard cigars in this price range are the bigger cohibas and trinidad!! other than these, you're looking at 'edition limitadas' and regional editions!!

      hope this helps......

bear in mind though, even at these prices you're not guaranteed an earth shattering experience!! instead of 1 cohiba siglo VI, you can get 2 standard priced, consistently good, robustos (such as the partagas d4, bolivar royal corona, vegas robaina famosos, etc etc)! if it's just an itch you need to scratch, then fair enough!!

This is not advice but just what I would probably blow my money on at that price.

Montecristo A Series Box Dated April 1999 - ?37, did I mention its 9.25" long. Hahaha

But in reality, on my way to buy the Monte I would turn at the last moment and spend my money on a Punch Medalla de Oro 2011 Limited UK Edition - ?25..... I would obviously be buying with my eyes as I know nothing about this stick other than it's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

over the last couple of years, i've bought a handful of esplendidos, maybe 6 or so!! i'd say, like most cohibas, i've really only enjoyed maybe 2, the rest i felt underwhelmed..... so much so i curse the brand and swear to never buy cohiba again!! lol for the size, i much prefer an aged RyJ churchill (or prince of wales), h upmann sir winston or bolivar gigantes...... and they're all around a tenner cheaper!!

these are ?18 in belfast....... i bought a couple about a year back, nothing special!!! very light, not much to it IMO!!! the por larranaga magnificos UK RE2007 are fantastic!! they were ?20 here in belfast i believe!! once i was told they should've been ?30+. i bought the remainder (i've about 10 of them now)!!

I will pick some up next time I visit the cigar shop, I like the size of the esplendidos and have been thinking about trying some other brands

                      Cuban influx!!!

Just to switch it up a little, how about an Arturo Fuente Opus X? Or an Arturo Fuente Shark. Both fantastic cigars by all accounts, I've only had the Opus X and a few other smaller cigars by AF but it's enough for me to happily vouch for the brand. I know reddit loves Opus X's for one.

Three sticks by AF that would be worth checking out, alternatively you could ship in some cigars from America if you fancied it. Drew Estate are always solid, check out their Liga Privada line. Ave Maria have fantastic reviews, Flor de las Antillas (sp?) won cigar of the year last year- and on that note Alec Bradley Prensado Churchill won the previous year and that is by all accounts a beautiful smoke. Tatuaje too, they're good. I had one and I want more.

Like I said, buying with my eyes . I'm glad that I'm not dropping this kind of money on sticks at the moment as they would not only be wasted on me but I would obviously be buying the wrong sticks ..... In time, good things come to those who wait.

Thx guys, too early in the am to check them all out, but will do later.
Leaning towards cohiba maduro 5 'genios'.
Only had I&II's and while they were part of igniting this obsession I've become a bit disappointed in them recently, could be the smokes or my pallete, and hope the maduro will put cohiba back on my list.

Punch DC..get a good one & they're hard to beat...same as most Cubans..
Agree with Alex on the "Sir Winston" but again I have had a mediocre stick or two..
Some cracking smokes too be had cheaper..with Cigars price/bling doesn't necessarily reflect a quality smoke..

As for paying ?20-?30 for a NC you guys mus be smoking something??
