Weather and cigars!

Robusto, I tend to smell the cigar as Im smoking, especially if it has chocolate notes before lighting up I will continue to smell it and savour it more. Mind you I can never remember the cigars from the past that held those lovely aromas, so I guess thats why i still take in the smelling side, hoping to re-connect.

It's something I shall try harder at, moth, because I do lose the smell. Especially when the stick has a brilliant taste.

I think most people are trying to get an additional box for long term storage, seeing as they are such a good smoke.

Smell First, Smoke Later.

When you (we) light up, do you stop smelling the cigar because the mouth takes over? By that, I mean does your ambient sense of the smoke smell vanish?

The short answer to your question is yes. One's ability to savor the aroma of a fine puro deminishes as you begin to smoke. I have found that the best way to fully appreciate a puros aroma is to wave the puro near the nose immediatly after lighting, but before you actually begin to smoke the stick.
