  • Undecided on next box buy

I'm in the market for a new box, my last box of D4's were such a hit. I'm thinking of going for another box of CC's but I also want a reliable cigar. I love cubans but a plugged one really ruins my day, so i've also got NC's on the mind. But the EMS selection of non-cubans are a bit well....limited. It's nice to see that we're getting Rock Patel over here now.

Whatcha think chaps? I'm a robusto fan, but i'm also toying with the idea of getting a box of half coronas for the time strapped experience. I had a H.Upman half corona which was really nice, but I also hear alot of good things from the Party shorts which I might just get for the hell of it.

A reliable smoke [construction wise], possibly cuban, but I will stretch to NC if they're available!

As long as you're not buying UK prices, the Cohiba Robustos have always been my favourite ones . Why not a box of Hoyo Epicures #2? Or be the first to get your hands on the Monte Petit #2, I'll definitely try for that!! (But i do have to see where my financial situation is when they are released, of course ) Oh! Got it! Magnum 48s

For the time strapped, Cuaba? Something larger than the divinos would work great . I got myself a box of divinos earlier and they've a good 45 minutes on them each . Something to compare the time if you're going larger than divinos.

My vote for a shorter smoke goes to the Ramon Allones Small Club Corona. Even with little age they are superb and reliable. Great value too.

MrB... You hear good things of the Party Short for good reason - they are incredible little smokes, and (in my experience) and very reliable option. HOWEVER... If you're looking to replace your current box and hit the ground running, they will not be for you - I'm personally of the opinion that they need a good couple of years on them to smoke as they should (more so than the PSD4 I reckon). The H.Upmann HC is a solid stick, and the one's I've had, all straight off the boat pretty much, have been perfectly smokeable from the off.

Got to agree with Pete too, I'm not a Monte fan, but really enjoy the Petit Edmundo - consistent (especially by Monte standards), and a nicely complex cigar for its size.

If you want the best short NC on the market (IMO), go for a Tatuaje Petite Cazadores Reserva or Tat PCR as its known, comes in cabs of 50. There's also the My Uzi Weighs A Ton +11 or baitfish, or an Illusion Rothschilde. A box of any Drew Estate or Tatuaje would be a good choice, so would a Paul Stulac, or Aturo Fuente.

I had a tat peti cazadore the other day and it was lovely. Also consider short story.

Don't buy a box without sampling first. Nothing worse than having 20+ sticks that don't agree with you.

Personally, I would have no problems in buying a box of half corona H.Upmanns
Best of luck whatever you decide!

                        Good on you, senor Mister.

I recently bought a box of NUB 460 Connecticut Wrapper that I plan to pass out at an upcoming summer event...mostly to those who can't distinguish a fine puro from a fine NC. One thing is for sure, it's rare, very rare, when you come across a plugged NC.

                        That's what I think, anyway.

Well, technically, you are correct, senor butternutz.

But I must admit I'm a bit Old School and like to address the fine forum fellows with a bit of respect, though I often truncate their handles.
