  • Curiosity is bad when it comes to cigars!!!

Why is it you think you find a dozen or so cigars you really like, various sizes, various occasions, various flavours etc. Then for some reason you think 'oh I'll order some of these to try'

You smoke them and think shite - where have these been all my life. Then it sends your little list in your head into overdrive and it makes you try more and more and more to get that list perfected

You're right, I try and explain that to my other half, but she doesn't get it. It's a passion and it's just not the cigars, it's the cutter, the lighter, the humidor, the case etc

You're right Grub - all the paraphernalia sure does add to the fun. I love all aspects of cigars: bands, boxes, books, lighters, ash-trays, tubos etc, etc

god the tubos!! I can't open a cupboard in the garage without one falling out. However they do have their uses I got a really nice leather case last year for daddy's day, and the cedar was great to put in there - it's also good for tuppadors!

Recently got a really nice art deco ash-tray off fleabay, sorry if i outbid one of you guys

I would say that the curiosity is the good thing about cigars - I love walking round a cigar shop picking out the cigars that look the most interesting, even if it doesn't do your budget any good!

...but starting on a budget (as I did and the students on here know only too well) is not such a bad thing; makes you do your research, select carefully and learn more about brands, flavour profiles, strength, body etc. and refine your own tastes before you blow the credit limits

I do agree, luckily I am a bit of a geek when I get into something, so spent hours researching things anyway 😊

Its just going into a shop always draws my eyes to something I didn't consider - which is what I love about it, plus bothering the staff with questions!
