Labelling your cigars? Its ok if you have a box of cubans as the date is on the box, but if you buy singles then its hard to remember dates etc?

If you decide to leave wrappers on single cigars i suppose you could write the month/year on with a sharpie to remind you? Im getting to the stage where i have bought a few now and unless i log them its hard to remember. Could get messy is you buy the same cigar but at different times of the year and you get them mixed up?

    Thoughts anyone?

There was someone on here organising a group buy for blank cigar labels to keep track of your sticks :-)

Put 'white strung labels' into eBay. I got about 200 for ?3. Just the job.

One of our number (I shall wait for him to pop up) uses small 'dots' with post it note glue on the back. Each dot has a number, he then has a computer printout with the full details of the cigars related to the number on the dot.

              Very technical.

If youve some room in your humidor, organise shelves or canyons ( for lack of a better word) separated by cedar to mark the years (or half years) that youve bought em.
I've different humidors for that but i dot think anyone wants to keep humidors in stacks like me........ Plus they need their own humidification and humid gauge and ofher bollocks....... To each their own

Thats another good idea, to keep the ceder in tubes for organisation. Its so tempting to light your cigar with it though. The thought of a good flame is very macho haha!!

I had an idea of using old business cards as labels to organise my cigars. I scored the cards with a knife to make the folding easier. I also used stickers from the cigar wrappers as a quick way of naming.

I don't think it looks too bad.

                        Pretty clever. definitely approve there!

However, next time you get a box of RYJ 2s or any boxes of tens, use the dividers those come with. Nice and easy.
Yours sure do look good. Not a word of lie there.
But those look too temporary to be as efficient. Especially when those are single sticks

I agree for the singles it's a pain in the back side, but its done a job for now.

I wanted to buy a few samplers to try and next time I will probably go for boxes which will make it easier to label. On the back of the cards I'm going to write the date of purchase on which will be less confusing trying to remember in the future.

Nooo! Dont' get those bloody samplers. Terrible selection of all of them!
If you can build your own sampler, that would be excellent. or.. perhaps. we can make an unofficial UKCF sampler set!! Just an idea..

As for the boxes.. well. here and there. I just purchase cigars in huge binges 3-4 times a year. that way, i can keep track of the ages in a knifty little note beside my humidor. No need to go out to boxes all of a sudden . Especially when you're at a 100+ct humidor; where are those boxes going to be stored?? (unless, of course, you're talking about those small 3-5 cigar boxes they have at the aeroport)

Bad choice of words really. Last time I bought a few 5 packs and singles and created my own really. There was one sample pack in there to be fair haha!
