Yup about ?40-45 in the UK.
The bigger question is will they be any good? General consensus is they are not good at the moment so we shall see.
For me it is a punt at this stage to see if they come round in 5/10/15 years time. I think they will probably hold their value (or go up) regardless.
Important to remember this type of release has very little to do with everyday cigar smoking.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

Absolutely .... and you would really have to be a die hard Collector to want to have anything to do with the naff looking bling-box they come in!If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

e.g. you say these cigars have little to do with everyday cigar smoking. Is that due to the cost/scarcity/special release reasons, are these the kinds of cigar you literally don't smoke, but just collect and keep the box intact, can it be said that cigar collecting offers an alternative to other more traditional financial investment products and strategies?
I don't know anything about wine either, and have no intention of doing, but it does seem that cigar collecting and consumption is perfectly analogous to the ideas and perceptions I have that surround the wine collecting world and hobby.
I am completely in the "smoking and consuming tobacco" mindset as a result of my history and relationship with tobacco products, but it seems there is a vast world beside this basic outlook and i am eager to explore it.

From my fairly limited knowledge, wine investing is perhaps more developed and less hazardous that cigar investing. From what I've heard, you can theoretically buy a crate of expensive wine and be relatively comfortable in the knowledge that its value will increase over time, whereas with cigars there seem to be many more complex considerations to take into account, such as: do I buy new cigars now and age them myself? Do I try to get hold of pre-millennium cigars or even pre-embargo cigars? Do I know roughly how the cigars can be expected to age based on how other cigars of the same or similar variety have aged in the past? Is there a consensus on whether the year in which the cigars were made was a "good" or "bad" year for them? Etc..... (Now prepares to be possibly told by one of the much more knowledgeable members on here that all the above is wrong)
Edit: I can't spell...

thank you for that, i never realised there was such a rich culture around cigars in this way...the hobby that just keeps giving! lol
It seems from your comments that a lot of knowledge is built up via experience (read costly and time consuming lol) I am not expecting to live well into a ripe old age and the lottery win is not very likely given I don't play it lol so I think my foray into the world will be skin deep at best and through the pages of whatever books I acquire.
Still though, even just the act of smoking these beauties is a wonderful experience (not the ones specific to this thread, just generally)

I tried one a couple of months ago. It was ok (for it's price point) but didn't make me want to buy/have any.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

Took a few BOTLs and i around 15 minutes to figure out that Cosecha 2008 means when the tobacco was aged from. So they are the same.
I further realised that when i got the box:
