  • Binge Smoking?

It's a well known drinking phenomenon, but is enough being done to understand the horrors of binge smoking?

It struck me last night on cigar number three of the evening (and cigar number five of the weekend), that I occasionally go months without a cigar, then totally binge in an effort to make up for lost time... In the summer, I would like to smoke a cigar a day, or at least every other. I usually end up smoking three or four at a time, but only once a week...

Does anyone else suffer from this terrible affliction?

I'm much the same Simon...especially if booze is involved! I've seen me getting through 5 cigars during a 6 hour sesh. Practically chain-smoking them....hate the taste the next morning and the house sinks too. Worth it at the time

I would be so ill if I binged out on cigars.

3 is about my max in a session and then they tend to merge into one (that may be down to the booze consumed at the same time though).

Can do half a dozen in a full day though, as trips to Gib have testified...

Can't do it. Especially when i normally always pair it with a black coffee or a hard liquor. 2 cigars with me and the accompanying scotch would have me with a headache for a good hour or so.

I remember the last time when I had two pints of Canadian beer with a good schnitzel dinner. Then took only ONE double corona out to the patio with three glasses of lowland malt.
That was not a good night after that double corona..........

Most times I smoke it is for a long slow chill with a single cigar, except when alcohol is involved or a large group of like minded people, then on the odd occasion I have burnt through 5-6. The throat the next day is pretty rough

After 3 or 4 in a day I stop enjoying them. One or two everyday is ideal.

One or two everyday would be heaven. Apart from at herfs, I don't think I've ever seen off more than three in a day - beyond that and I agree, the enjoyment diminishes quickly. I have noticed though, even when I'm on a binge, I've become a rather slow smoker... Just need a shed somewhere to enjoy it regularly.
