  • Something for the Wedding...?

Hello there people, I know this must of been covered 1000's of times but need some recommendations.

Forgive me on this long post, but its important to me...

I get married this year August 25th and would love to supply for my day.
I did buy some last year from Cuba but the temptation got the better of me and now have run really short (couldnt help it) There will be alot of family and guests there but get a small feeling not everyone will WANT a stick but more of a TRY a stick.
Iv got around ?200-?250 at a push for my wedding cigars.

I have in mind Partagas P no2 10's. These will be for the selected few close mates and best man.

But I would love to have piramids, torpedo or especially tubos as they have a better touch for the occasion and hopefully the same size aswell.

So any other recommendations for my close select few than other from above?

Prices and where to get these from would be a bonus.

Now my wife to be said she wants her friends to have one BUT they are not really tokers.
Would it be wrong of me to supply the following?
    Jose .L Piedra long corona 5's x2?
They a 6" long and roughly 43 gauge which I think is adequate.

Am I being tight with the above?

Because they arnt smokers but mite enjoy a cigar once in a while would this be sufficient?
Plus I will be less likely to be bothered if I saw one stubbed out in a ash tray with 3/4 left on it than having a stick worth ?15-?20 in the same boat.

So for around my buget, it has to include roughly 25 sticks. What a headache!

    Thanks again guys, your ace!

I would advise going for something mild, that smokes well young and not too big/expensive:

    I would suggest:

    HdM Petit Robusto

Big enough to look like a cigar, mellow enough to be approachable and cheap enough for the throw-aways.

On a recent trip to Havana I picked up 50 beautiful Piramide from the Melia Havana for my neice's wedding. While I can console myself that they worked out and less than ?10 each I couldn't enjoy the fact that half of them were only smoked for the first inch and ended up in a flower bed.

If you know you have friends who enjoy cigars get them something mild and short (short Churchill etc) because you don't want to miss too much drinking/dancing time.

But for the others who are just pi$$ed up and decide it's a good idea to smoke a cigar get them something very very cheap or you will see your wonderful cigars (not to mention the money) languishing in the rose bed!!!

Have you considered these. Should be all you want if you're careful. SWIMBOs will like the wedding look of them too!

If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

            Thanks for the input guys.
Can I just ask why NOT get anything too big?

I do like to impress and im hoping the weather the month is going to be really nice.

I can handle big smokes, and maybe afew others to. Plus anyone got any recommendations for the people who dont normally smoke?

I like the look of tubed sticks, makes it look that extra special if you know what I mean.

More than any other day you can possibly imagine, you will run out of time... It just disappears! To do justice to a big smoke you'll need to take more time out than you'll be able to afford during your own wedding. I speak from experience...

Ok mate, thanks for the heads up on this.
So whats the size in length and girth I can manage maximum in a wedding time frame then?
I normally like a good stick, but like people said I cant rush a nice cigar neither can I be away from the wife and guests for more than half an hour. But I will be having my mates there who I haven't seen in over 5-6 years.

You've just provided your own answer and you certainly aren't in Double Corona territory!

Party Shorts would be reasonable in my humble view!

Ok mate, thankyou for keeping me in reality.

What shorts and what tubed sticks would you go for then?

Take it the box of 10's Bolivar royal coronas are still out of the question? Abit too much flavor and size for the guest and friends?

Still need a cheap alternatives for people who dont normally smoke aswell...

If you are set on tubed, why not Romeo y Julietta Short Churchills for you and your cigar enjoying mates, they be 45-60 min smokes. For other guests, try some RyJ Tubos No.3's which are at the cheap end but not massive smokes at about a half hour or so.

Other options are to look at Upmann Corona Major, about PC size / Partagas Corona Senior / Punch Petit Coronations
