  • Are the Churchill Sizes too long or is it just me?

So is it just me, or do the Cohiba Esplandidos too long for a simple sit down and enjoy?

I was wondering cause I bought a box of 25 and they seem to long for the normal smoke. I was thinking of cutting them shorter and just lighting that and enjoying that.
Would that be a sort of "mortal sin" or is it just not preferred? Also, would the first third of the cigar's flavour be cut short or will the thirds just be smaller (like logic kinda dictates to me right now)?
Also, could i use the scrap tobacco in a pipe by shredding it up further??

Sorry if this idea seems sacralig to anyone here but it's better than smoking it then tossing away an entire third......

There is a school of thought that says never to smoke a cigar past half way.

Personally, I would wonder about an Esplendido being 'the normal smoke'. Perhaps save them for special occasions.

Call me thick, but why not just leave the Esplendidos in the humi and choose a smaller smoke.

Cutting a Julieta No 2 will sever the blend construction and totally ruin flavour progression.

Getting to grips with bigger sticks is just practice and it's OK to toss a smoke when YOU feel you've had enough of it.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Haha, pretty sure it isn't age. It's just nowadays, we don't have as much time to sit and enjoy something. Then you have the whole thing with banning smoking in restaurants and bars which really hinder the opportunity.
And I don't smoke indoors (property value and animals and what not), so there's a lack of opportunity.

Ah got it. See I thought that the tobacco was the same. And it would change as smoke is drawn into it. So i guess it wouldn't be wise to cut it as they won't taste like what Cohibas SHOULD taste like.

Methinks i'll leave them in there and sell some if i can. I do have various other smaller smokes that i choose over those of course.

            Cheers,

I've got some trini Reyes which I'd happily swap for an esplendidos. Only to help you out though...
