As someone new to the hobby I have bought several 10 count boxes i.e. Montecristo Petit Edmundo and Trinidad Robusto T's (12 actually). I have bought some that I have not tried before like Ramon Allones Superiores but I think any cigar deserves at least 3-4 tries before you really write it off (or the other way around). Worst case scenario, they'll get some age while resting and can be traded to someone else.

My first full box was 25 x Romeo y Julieta Coronas, back in the 1980's - A Christmas present from the importers at the time, Knight Brothers. From memory it was in the top three most popular Havana's in the UK at the time.

I guess that was from a time when corporate gifts everywhere.
