Blimey, is it me or is that a big deal for a colour scheme that has essentially been the same since 1935?

It's a very big deal when you think about it Monk. I personally don't like it much and just hope it stays with ICdT and doesn't spill over to Habanos.

Bigger deal than I first thought. Two colours, a lowered price ..... and no Seal that I can see.

Making a full on assault on the Cafe Creme market by the looks but *urgh* to the design, looks like 1990's desktop repro.

Yes, but NO Seal. Does that mean they were made outside Cuba?

Not quite sure what to make of this statement:

Imperial Tobacco will distribute the two new Red and Blue Montecristo Mini cigar SKUs only. The traditional Montecristo mini cigars (yellow pack), made using 100% Cuban tobacco, which were launched in 2001, are sold through the distributor Hunters & Frankau, the appointed distributor for all handmade and machine made Cuban cigars in the UK.

Imperial Tobacco manufacture the minis for the new tins? or just rebox them?

Dunno. The yellow packs are still ?6+ and have a warranty seal. Made in Cuba.

The tins are significantly cheaper. No Seal.

The new Monte are going to regular tobacco outlets while the older yellow packs remain distributed to specialist outlets by H&F.

Makes me wonder if the new Monte mini are 100% Cuban tobacco?

With a lack of the 100% Cuban statement for the new tins, I'd say no...& no warranty seal, speaks for itself..
Made in Spain with anything would be my guess...ties in with PdC....

Just bought a pack. It says 'Cuban Blend' and Made in the EU under authorisation of Habanos SA.

The yellow packs say 100% Tobaco Cubano and HECTO EN CUBA.

The new Monte Mini cost ?4.32 .... a pack of Cafe Creme cost ?4.56

EEEEEuck No! Cuban Blend, yeah blended with the worst tobacco Java or the Philippines has to offer I think. Sickly perfumery taste (not much taste at all really, these were the mild ones), very fast burning .... and hot .... the lightest sip will burn the lips.

I think Imperial have f**ked-up. Oh dear, too bad, never mind!

What does Cuban blend actually mean. I'm gonna guess there is more chance of finding horse meat in it than any Cuban leaf?
