I'd sooner not smoke than have my wallet raped by the establishment....the well heeled fuckers have created this scenario so let them rot in it.
Bring back Public & Saloon bars & lower the tax on drink & tobacco, give the choice back to every adult in the country..this nanny state is a piece of shite!

I've got to agree with Scotty on this one. Perhaps it's the thrifty northerner in me (aka mean bastard) but I really do resent paying hard-earned money for NOTHING. Start with the true value of what you're consuming, add a bit for the real cost of the environment you're enjoying and you will still be left with a whopping great sum of money - for NOTHING !

Agree with you David but if an establishment is going to the expense of creating an area just for the pleasure of the minority it's likely they will charge a premium.. There are plenty of pubs with gardens but not all of them have cover or are warm..

If you hunt around there are many London Cigar Terraces/rooms where cigars cost maybe 5-10% over London list price.
I've sat and smoked cigars in November in a country pub with Robusto and we froze our nuts off, I enjoyed the company but I was delighted when I got back into the warm pub bar afterwards.
The rise in the number of London Terraces indicates that Hotels and restaurants are prepared to invest to give us somewhere to smoke that is warm and comfortable and those lucky enough to live near the Prince have a great place to smoke (I only wish there were more places as good as this outside London) but to expect to get all of these facilities in central London for free is just unrealistic.Nic

You know Nic - I don't believe I was suggesting 'for free' but I was inferring that the prices actually charged are extortionate - and I don't see the justification for extortion. A fair return, yes - perhaps a bit of a premium - but not extortion !

Guess I'm just a Luddite, but twentyfive quid plus to smoke a Trinidad Reyes just ain't me!If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

As everyone is aware, the cost of living in and around London is excessive...it's the reasons, historical & otherwise, which annoy me.
Of course rent & property prices will be exorbitant...look who the landlords are.
I have been fortunate enough to profit from this, so realistically, should have no axe to grind...but I could not, in all honesty, go back to that lifestyle.
The fact that people actually accept this sort of status quo is an indication, to me, that we have lost our identity as Great Britain.
I predict more riots this summer, more unrest, more poverty..the enforced North/South divide is now being deliberately targeted by those in power...a Civil war is on the cards in the next 25 yrs...I wonder who will be held responsible...

Can't accept this Puff, as a student I know that I will receive 5k more for the same job in London as in Heathrow, high living costs balances it out + you get the benefits of living in the greatest city on the planet. (who wants to live up north?!? )
