While we were in Havana for the Partagas festival, we purchased some Cohiba Behike 52 and we noticed a hole and dust coming out of a cigar. After a few shake...

Little medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these
The excitation caused by this video (not here) is ridiculous. As I said in the forum where it was initially posted, do people must SEE beetles to be convinced they exist?
Even more ridiculous is the crowd saying "oh my god I must freeze all my cigars!" just because the cigar is a pricey cigar. If the cigar had been a Piedra no one would worry…
Generations of smokers in Europe managed to collect habanos without freezing them. Think about it.
Presumably Behike are also faked ? I know beetle can be found in almost any box (usually dead) but I would be very surprised to find live beetle in a genuine Cohiba. bearing in mind their quality control measures. Dismantling every cigar isn't an option of course but live beetle suggests a newly rolled cigar. Was there evidence of the origin of the cigar dismantled in the video ? Frightening, isn't it ?

Are you serious? Beetles are everywhere in Cuba, and their presence or absence has NOTHING to do with quality control.
btw, the tobacco beetle is known to go preferably to the richest tobacco, so finding a larvae in a Cohiba is certainly not surprising…

Am I serious ? Only from the point of view that my regular smoke is a Cohiba Siglo IV or a Cohiba Robusto or (occasionally) a Cohiba Esplendido and I have NEVER had so much as a beetle hole in a cigar from Cohiba. Of course, I may simply have been lucky but after 25 years of Cuban cigar smoking I suppose I might have encountered an occasional beastie. It's one of the reasons why I prefer Cohiba. I have certainly experienced the little horrors (never alive) in Ramon Allones, R&J even Bolivar. However, I am no expert so will leave it at that.
I suppose its one of those things where ignorance is bliss , if you don't know they are there and don't look for them it wont bother you. (i mean inside a cigar unseen not when they have hatched and made holes in your stocks) we will all probably smoke a few beasties at some point!!
