I decided to try an Oliva, then a R&J Churchill, then the Cohiba came third - and I really liked it! Bags of thick creamy smoke, the only cigar I've smoked to the nub. I've tried a few others since (and so far the CoRo is the best). Still got a few others to try - so that could change. Will have to see. Tried cigars at different price points, and found the cheaper ones to be less superior (my own opinion - sorry if I offend). I've not got years of cigar smoking experience - I'm a newbie. Not new to smoking though. The OP asked which cigar to buy, and as a fellow newbie I suggested a CoRo. Apologies.

Well put, senor Pez...well, put indeed. As you noted, Cohiba's in general, but the Cohiba Robusto in particular, need quite a few years of age to be enjoyable, IMO. So I would not recommend the brand to a knewbee, unless they could get hold of one with a few year age on it. But that doesn't mean some folks new to puros would not enjoy 'em from the get-go!

      That's what I think, anyway.

sinbadthesailor Puffy has apologised to me in private, I believe he was having a very bad day! Hopefully he'll wake up tomorrow on the right side of the bed and things will go a bit more smoothly!

No need to apologize, muchacho....all thoughts and opinions are welcome around these parts.....well, almost all.

Anyway, as senor Puff suggested, why not head over to the knewbee greet forum and introduce yourself to the fine members of this here fine forum.

I could/could've said so many nasty things over the previous posts - but didn't sink down to that level.
Sorry to hear he's having a bad day. Shame it was me at the receiving end, had to be somebody I guess.
Why he apoligised only to you - I don't understand.

I also got the romeo y julieta you recommended along with just a few chinchaleros which i actually liked better than the guantanamera. Im hoping the romeo and monte will be even better than the chinchalero which i suspect.
I think my girlfriend has sent me down a cigar. She was asking what I liked earlier today then all of a sudden I have a "suprise" coming for me. If its what I think it is it will be a Trinidad Reyes.

Im trying to cut out the crap, dont go tempting me with full fat coke haha!

all sounds good pal! the RyJ and monte WILL be MUCH BETTER than the chincaleros, trust me! once you get the taste for cubans, everything else tastes like dirt, lol! oh, fingers crossed you get the trinidad reyes you're expecting, they are exceptional wee cigars (much better than cohibas in my opinion)!!!

as for recommending full fat coke..... trust me, even the wee cigars can knock you for 6!!! if you do start feeling 'green', a can of full fat coke or lucozade sorts you out!

Just got back from an exam, on the way home decided to stop in at tesco and grab some drink for tonight. Decided to grab a bottle of each of the innis and gunn range.
Aberlour was also on offer down to ?22 so got myself a bottle. Came home to find a present waiting, the girlfriend had send down a RyJ no.2 and some ferrero rochers down!
Going to be a good night
