  • Recommend me a cigar

    Hi everyone,
looking to buy a cigar or two for the end of the week and need some recommendations on what to go for. They should be around ?10 each and all recommendations are welcome!
New to cigar smoking therefore have only tried a few different ones such as the guantanamera cristales and the chinchalero (cant remember which one)

    Thanks

best to start where we all started, romeo y julieta no.2 or montecristo no.4 (or the tubed version, 'petite tubos'), or if you're feeing brave enough, a bolivar tubos no.2 (or petite corona)! these are petite coronas and should last you around 45mins-1hr! these are slightly over a tenner, by only a quid or two! other than that, you could try a couple of smaller cigars (these are under a tenner generally), such as perlas or half coronas! here you could try the montecristo no.5, trinidad reyes, cohiba siglo 1, ramone allones small club corona, bolivar corona jnr, san cristobel de le habana el principe! here's a link to the site sponsor where you should find all recommendations:

check your local off license for a hunters and frankau glass hhttp://corporate.cigars.co.uk/about-us?accept=1umidor that usually sits on the counter, or your local asda or waitrose (they usually sell h upmann corona jnrs and punch coronations, around ?6-7 each)!

http://corporate.cigars.co.uk/about-us?accept=1 (here's what the humidors should look like in your local off license)!

          hope this helps,

          alex

That was extremely informative, thank you.
I think ill start off with a romeo y julieta no.2 and a montecristo no.4. Might get a couple of half coronas too.

great choices mate! you'll be hard pushed to get anything bigger for under a tenner, and unless you've an understanding partner who lets you smoke indoors, it ain't exactly the weather for long smokes! robustos and coronas are usually between ?13-16 each, and typically have a smoking time of over an hour!

any other help or info you need, just ask! we're only too glad to help.....

no worries, i'm only passing on the great help i got when i joined this forum! do let us know how you get on with those cigars! again, check out asda or waitrose, they may be cheap and at the lower end of the cuban quality scale, but the h upmann corona jnr and punch coronation are miles better that any non cuban, henri wintermann, king edward etc etc! best of all, they're probably available round the corner and you just don't know it!

                    all the best,

                    alex

Can't help you out here I'm afraid, but it sounds like Senor Robusto knows his stuff. I feel for you on the not smoking inside front - I'm banned for the next few months due to some small screaming new arrivals. Can't wait to have a smoke again in the comfort of my own house
