Tobacco Tax

Had a very frank discussion with my stepdad, a GP. His view generally relating to tobacco is the treasury would struggle without people smoking. Whilst the government may put on a good show they really need people to keep smoking. His thought was that the tax generated from tobacco far outweighed the cost associated to smoking illness and the inherent cost to the NHS.
