All of the above and use the 'search' function, you will find tonnes of info on anything stogie.

Other than that, for me I've 'met ' a few real nice guys on here with similar tastes and we often trade/ split/ share cigars as and when each other is able. It's a fantastic way of having the craic with the hobby, getting info and learning especially about brands that you may not be in a position to try normally.

Oh and don't forget the custard!!!

Looking for Monte Sublimes if you have any?

Unless you are mad for it! smoke fewer good cigars rather than lots of cheap ones. Look for age, one London Cigar store manager I know wont recommend anything under 4 years old. Age takes away roughness and quality you will remember, cheap cigars are quickly forgotten.

Be patient. Don't generalize and beware of generalizations.
When you want to try a cigar, buy at least a pair.

Everything above is great! The only thing I may add would be to smoke slowly. I was wondering what was wrong with me until about a month ago and why I could only taste hot burnt rubber in cigars, its because I was smoking far too quickly
A cigar is not measured by its cost - It is measured by how much it burns your fingers

+1 to what James said, smoke slowly enjoy your cigar. Also try to choose the right cigar for the right occasion, for example avoid a Churchill if your short on time .

This is particularly incisive in my book.

I would agree with this, I am just starting to buy cigars with a bit of age or putting other cigars that I like, away and hopefully forgetting about them for a few years. I have also worked through different singles and I am finding out what I like and what I dont. Most of all enjoy and relax.

Some wonderful advice here.Nothing new to add really except just to say one thing in a variance that was personal to me.When I first started smoking cigars I gave up very quickly on the basis that I just wasn't "getting" them, couldn't taste all the flavours I was reading about etc. What I've found since then after going back to them is that it takes time to "train" your palette,as it were.So just enjoy each cigar for what it is initially, you'll always get the basic taste, sweet and bitter etc of some quality tobacco and then as you progress you'll start to realise that you're picking up more of the subtleties. Most importantly, enjoy the journey. There's some wonderful treats in store and you'll meet some great people along the way good luck mate!

Use a tupperdor, it's cheaper and more reliable than a wonder humidor and with beads it's humidity remains rock solid. Added to that I can check it without opening it so my OCD disappeared.
Of course I did get this advice when I started but ignored it, to my detriment. Though you get so much conflicting advice when you begin it's down to trial and error until you settle into something you're comfortable with.

I Like Smallclub's advice a lot. Cigars of the same size and brand can vary from one to another so, even if you're not mad about one, try another and see.

Probably the only advice otherwise is, try to remember - If you're enjoying yourself then you're probably doing it the the right way...
