  • Has anyone tried a NUB?

I have just ordered the Nub Sampler Pack 8's from Fox of St. James's and just wondering if anyone has tried a Nub.

    I have.

I tend to prefer larger ring gauges, so just had to try one.

Can't remember which one it was, but it was very awkward and "messy" for want of a better word.

Not a bad smoke, just hard work.

Try them and see how you get on. Nothing to lose

I bought a sampler before, smoked 2, given away the rest.

some ppl do enjoy them but personally I don't as I don't get on with any NCs.

ive had a few, not bad smokes but didnt find them great. thought the construction was amazing on all though.
i do know people who really like them so give them a go and let us know what you think.

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

I like the one I have tried a couple of times now, 460 Habanos, got a box in as I thought they were a solid smoke, good value, especially as they last for ages considering the length due to the compactness of the tobacco. Impeccable construction, great draw, and very pleasant - though not complex - taste.

Bought a box as a good choice for a smoke I don't need to think about, have to say the guage is bloody ridiculous tho, not an issue cept you wouldn't fnid me smoking these in public I reckon!

Yep, they are a little two dimensional as far as taste is concerned, but a great smoke none the less, they last for ages though so don't look at them as a quick little smoke

I've had the Connecticut and have others in my Humi as well.

Yeti is right, it isn't a short smoke - I was surpirsed at just how long it lasted.

I enjoyed it as an accompaniment to good conversation and a few drinks but I might have struggled for the hour and three quarters it took to smoke if I hadn't had something else to concentrate on. It retained shape and construction right until I burnt my fingers. It smoked well, with an even burn and didn't feel like it was going out at any time.

My advice is give 'em a go if you are prepared to give any NC's a go and avoid them if you only like CC's.

Just echoing sentiments already said, they aren't awesome cigars but definately enjoyable and can be a nice change!

I've tried the Connecticut 464 and enjoyed it. As described above, it won't blow the top of your head off with strength of flavour, but it draws and burns very well, tastes great, lasts long enough...what's not to like at the price?

I hate to knock a cigar that you've already ordered but I really didn't care for them and I've tried the full range (to my knowledge). In saying that, I'm not a big NC fan in general so if NCs are more to your taste then you may well like them. I would echo Wardjrd's comment that it's a cigar to smoke while doing something else, there's not a lot of complexity to concentrate on.

They are a good NC. I don't much like the Connecticut but the habano and Cameroon are good smokes. Try getting a 466 habano, a beast of a smoke!
