  • Are you a wetter or a chewer?

Smoking my first Bolivar Britannica on Sunday outside a pub with a chum and lots of guys on their way in (and mostly already moving well!) remarked at the wonderful cigar smell.

One particularly well oiled new arrival who appeared on a 1960 single cylinder Raleigh Mobylette type thing complete with a modified deerstalker with internal helmet, asked me for a drag on my cigar and then proceeded to tell me off because it was 'wet'.

I told him it's how I smoke them and I don't usually give a damn about what other people think.

I know Churchill was a huge masher of cigars, judging by the buts I have seen including the one at the Cabinet war rooms which as taken a severe bashing.

Anyone else like to get a good mouthful?

My cigars are always a bit chomped on by the end. If I am walking with a cigar I am even worse, often gripping it between my teeth.

It depends on what mood I am in and what cigar I am smoking. NCs usually get chomped where as CCs don't .

A slight amount of wet for me......but the chewing sounds interesting. Do you get tobacco in your mouth?

A stranger asked fr a puff then chastised you? My retort would have had 2 words, one starts with F the other ends with F. Rhymes with muck off.

And I don't put my tongue on it. I can't stand it soggy!

I did say something similar (in a jovial way)

I know that it is wierd to let a stranger 'toke' on your cigar but all I can say that "it was that type of pub"

Try to keep as dry as possible, as i find if it gets wet i get a lot more nicotine from the oil that builds up in the nub

I try to be dry but normally fail.
