  • An unexpected purchase!

20120508_173724.jpgGreat day today. Went out for a walk at lunch and stumbled upon some cash in the street. I guess the most responsible thing to do would have been to hand it in to the police. I didn't do this. Rather, I went to my local cigar shop and selected some new cigars....unexpected cigars as I had already spent this months cigar budget which the wife sets for me!
I'm a through and through Cuban cigar smoker but was talked into buying a bundle of 15 Honduras cigars (Villa Zamorano, El Gordo). I was told that a lot of people use them as their daily smoke and save the good ones for special occasions. I just had my first one and its surprisingly good! Also picked up my first Juan Lopez No. 2 robusto which I'm looking forward to!
What would you have done in my situation?

Nice looking Nc's. If it was in a wallet or identifiable in some way I would always hand it in. If's it's just cach, the chances of it ending up with the rightful owner, even at the Police sation is remote so I'd probalby put it in a charity box. Still you chose to support a poor country by buying their wares, who's to say that's not the more decent thing to do?

Pretty much what Simon stated, if there were any ID with the money I'd hand it in. If not I'd have put it in my pocket and depending on the amount, purchased something for my son/mother. If there were a proper cigar shop where I live I would have probably nipped in there to buy a few samples depending on the amount.

If I get some good fortune like that I do like to spread it around a bit, it makes me feel better for recieving it ... so send us some of those cigars you tight bastard!!!!!!!!

Ok, update time. Unfortunately it wasn't in a wallet or anything, so no ID. Bought the wife some flowers, kind of charity...haha Also, on Wednesday mornings we have a market in the centre of town where I live and people often leave money with the mobile coffee place to pay for strangers coffee. I left them enough money for around 10 coffees So spreading it around a little bit Haha as for sending you cigars...your quote says 'friends don't let friends smoke NC's!', I'm sorry I bought NC's....haha

I'm sending you my Paypal details for the refund, thanks!

I've got a great cigar collection - it's actually not a collection, because that would imply I wasn't going to smoke every last one of 'em.

Then I can not fault your actions sir. As for the NC's it's not that they aren't good, it's just that Cubans are so much better! Let us know what you made of the Honduran cigars.
