  • A cigar/ale question

Hey guys I'm pondering over which cigar to buy for my wedding and I just had a thought.
Are there any cigars that go well with a ruby ale (hobgoblin)?

Hmmm, love the hobgoblin, I reckon something with a bit of oomph like a Bolivar Gold Medal, or Montecristo Grand Edmundo if you want something more gimungous (technical term). Small cigars maybe RASCC?

Might need to give a few more hints about what you've smoked before, size and price you're looking for?

I dont think you can go wrong with a Partagas SDN4, but as Zig asked, what do you normally smoke?

I'm totally new to cigars (literally started this week) most recent smoke was a gauntanmera cristale and that was far too light. I'd prefer something with a little more spice/pepper.

Partagas are a good bet, or maybe a Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto (cheaper too if your buying a lot).

I never worry what i smoke with Ale, more the size of the smoke is worth considering , how long you going to dissapear for ? at said wedding. Me i'd go for a Churchill but i'm always getting in trouble !
Ive got some Cuaba Salomones Mmmmm does me for 4 pints.

Partagas shorts are good at weddings. Had a box at mine and they went down a storm!

Party shorts, RASCC , Monte 4's . An idea, we'll come along just for the smoking session, and a little bit of cake .

HdM Petit Robusto would be a good bet as per SmokeyDave, bout 40 or so minutes depending on your smoking speed, great all round smoke, should make the cristale seem like a horrible memory...

If you're looking for something short but with a bit of oomph I'd recommend Partagas Shorts, Bolivar Petit Coronas (or Corona Juniors) and Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas. I'd steer clear of the Guantanameras if I were you, they're generally considered to be the worst Cuban cigars going! If you're looking for cheap options then Jose L. Piedras and Quinteros are much better IMO.
If you want a midget to look like a baby, don't put a cigar in his mouth.
