  • Box or Cab?

Couldn't find anything on this, though I'm sure it's been asked before, but here goes, in your opinion(s) is there any real difference between a cab or a box of cigars?

I'm also pretty sure I'm gonna be hung, drawn and quartered over terminology and yada yada but I basically mean your standard box, where the cigars are often pressed together in two layers, and your cab where you get a wheel of cigars, with space in the corners of the box, and with a ribbon round the wheel to hold them together...

Asking for general opinions but in particular if anyone has experience of the difference between the two for the Partagas Lusitania that'd be great... Having a hard time deciding if I can justify the outlay on 50 of the wonderful blighters!!

Cabs are normally considered better for ageing, most likely because they are all closer together it allows the flavours to permeate better.

Good buy! Now, if you can restrict your consumption to 5 pa your be smoking well aged sticks before the end. If your'll still enjoying them by 5yrs, make sure you buy another cab & they'll be ready to smoke by the time the first is finished

Always love the way you are planning ahead SB... took onboard your wise words when I joined the forum and things are starting to pay dividends in terms of now having some older stuff to smoke while I keep my grubby mitts off all the 2010/11 stuff I've picked up recently!

Zig - that's a nice pick up indeed, 100% need to see the pictures!

Lol basically proof you have them in the form of a photo with a pot of birds custard on top ( as its unlikely a retailer would allow u in to take pics when u whip out a pot of custard and say do u mind if I stick this on here)
